The Importance of Pool Tile Cleaning


Swimming pool tools and supplies are something that you really need to know about if you own a pool. You will see that learning all about pool tile cleaning, is something that you can use as well when you are dealing with the swimming pool blues.

That great pool you have is going to need regular cleaning so now is a good time for some basic cleaning procedures including vacuuming and pool tile cleaning tips.

There are some great ways to save time and money with some basic steps for cleanup.

1. Deck and Cover Cleaning

Removing as much of the debris off the deck as possible means there is less stuff to fall into the pool which can be easily done with a simple broom.

2. Surface Skimming

It is a lot easier to remove the debris when it is floating on the top then it is to remove once it sinks. All you need is a extending pole and leaf rake. As you fill the net up just empty it into the compost bin or garbage bag.

3. Tiles

You should always clean your tiles first. As you clean the tiles the dirt and debris will fall off and settle to the bottom of the pool where it will be picked up by filters.

If you have tiles that are stained you can use a pumice stone to gently remove it. The tile soap and a tile brush will also lift most stains. For really tough stains you can use muriatic acid. Use a very mild potion of one part acid to six part soap.

Don't forget to scrub below the water line which changes with fills and evaporation. Never use abrasive scrub pads to clean. They will scratch your tiles.

4. Water Levels

Evaporation means you will occasionally have to add an inch or two of water. It's better to do it on a regular basis then wait until it's dropped too low because it will take forever to top up then....
